So one thing that gave me pause with this potential job offer is that it’s six months contract to hire, and unlike the contract I’m currently on, the agency doesn’t provide access benefits for those six months.
I figured that was a no-go out of the gate, but out of curiosity I decided to go back to the marketplace and just see how dire my health insurance would be. And yeah, pretty dire, like in the $500-ish vicinity.
Felt glum for a while. Then I looked at my pay stub and realized I’m already paying more than $360.
So yeah, maybe we do this thing after all. I can manage six months.
